Senor Designer & Product Developer

Opportunity to join a successful supplier of ladieswear, menswear and childrenswear multiproduct categories who supply to major retailers. This is a role for a Senor Designer & Product Developer, based in the Bangladesh office.

You will be working within a small fast paced team as well as working closely with the wider business. You will be involved in all stages of the development process supporting and reporting to the Design Director.

Minimum of 4-5 years in the fashion industry, in a similar or same role, in manufacturing or retail.

This position is onsite 5 days per week in our Bangladesh office.

The Role:

  • Weekly catch up meetings with Design Director, and discuss the priorities for the week ahead (daily if required during peak season)
  • Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes and fabric direction, with a strong commercial handwriting, the timescales given.
  • Create full repeat prints, graphics, trims and 1:1 scale artwork for factory sampling, in the correct format required.
  • Develop seasonal mood boards, identifying trends and fashion colours specific to the customer profile, to compile seasonal trend reports which are presented to buyers, identifying innovation through the research of on-going and future trends, tailored for specific customers.
  • Report to Design Director to support the process of sourcing and development to coordinate and develop each season range from Design to Proto samples.
  • Innovate by sourcing new fabrics and trims, looking for constant newness.
  • Track the lab dipping and strike off progress with HK team to ensure no delays to sampling and production, notifying the Design Director of any delays/issues.
  • Collate samples and compile information and documents for all internal and/or client meetings.
  • Maintain critical path which holds all the styles for the new season, including fabric information, composition and track the development stage for each style, and discuss at the weekly catch up meeting.
  • Assist the Design Director with any ad hoc admin duties.

The Candidate:

  • An eye for attention to detail, with strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge of fabric and trims, with understanding of garment construction and patterns.
  • Experience working with and liaising with factories.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office, with a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite an advantage.
  • Excellent communicator with attention to detail, and confident presentation skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
